Apologies in advance 🎃
Since it’s been rainy and cold, we’re afraid our Halloween wasn’t too spooky. So here’s two minutes of cannibal roosters eating cat food made of rooster! After about 60 seconds, we also see Kanna looking forlorn as her breakfast evaporates:
Horses in the mist 🐎
It was about 40℉ and very foggy:
How foggy? We couldn’t see the hay in front of our faces! 🐴
So how’s our Henry doing? 🐎
A couple of weeks ago Henry had some choking spells which were very scary. But the vet fixed him up, and put him on a diet of no apples, no carrots, and his grain should be mixed with water. So while the other horses have dry grain—Henry has a “slushy”:
We had to skip a post yesterday, because our internet was out. 🐴
Lynx caught a sparrow yesterday:
Someone was too busy fighting with the other sparrows to look around, and now he’s cat food:
Having trouble sleeping? 🐴
Here’s a video featuring the soothing sounds of us munching our breakfast hay:
DHS update 😺
In order to provide the latest in horse protection technology, we replaced DHS Cam 4. Check out the great view it provides:
Horse thieves beware!
We love Julia! 🐎
Here’s Chavez and Ann giving Julia her riding lesson:
Julia does a great job of making Chezzie walk and trot:
She’s also great at making turns, too:
Look at Julia’s concentration. She rides like a winner!
These pictures are a little blurry, because chickens are very, very fast 🐓
Minnie found a dead (but fresh!) mouse on the driveway—and everybody wants it:
She got chased around the garage at least once:
There’s a chick tug-of-war going on here:
If I knew the chicks’ names (or cared), I’d tell you who won 🐴:
Everybody has their own space 🐓
The chickens won’t swim in the duck pool (the chickens won’t swim, period):
And the ducks won’t hide under the hay barn:
Luigi defends his breakfast 😺
Luigi and Lynx are having some canned food, when the buzzards descend:
The nuggets (probably) have two daddies 🐔
Hans checks in on his babies:
Dietrich checks in on his babies, too:
Whose exactly are whose, who knows? 🐴
So, what has our attention today? 🐎
We’re not watching balloons or cows this time:
We’re welcoming Iris and Chavez home after their show this past Saturday:
Mara and Mary won nine ribbons! 🎀 (They would have won more, but diva Iris and the judge had ego issues.)
Watch out, Lynx! 😾
It’s a good thing Luigi didn’t see this:
As we know, the hay is his private territory (invited guests are tolerated):
A pair of winners! 🐎
Here’s our Mary on Chavez, and our Mara on Iris, at the horse show last Saturday! They each won ribbons!
Let’s have some road-kill impersonations! 😺
Our performer today is Schrödinger:
Not “killed” enough for you? Let’s look at this pose:
The nuggets explore their horizons 🐓
Minnie takes the chicks on a tour of the stable:
Luigi sees how things are going (the nuggets already know cats are no threat 😿):
Horse show Sunday 🐎
Mary and Mara packed up Iris and Chavez for a horse show this morning:
Iris usually doesn’t go into the trailer without putting up a fight. But she pretty much behaved herself this morning:
Mara checks Iris’s rear “seat-belt" while Chezzie gets ready to go next:
In he goes without a fuss (Mary’s in front leading him):
Our Mara locks up the gate and away they go:
Good luck Mara and Mary! (Good riddance Iris and Chavez!):
No more flies! 🐎
These past several mornings have been clear and cool:
We can finally go out without our fly masks:
Chicken-Can-Cam! 🐔
The DHS never sleeps. . .
. . .even if it has to spend the night looking up at roosting bird butts.
